Cost Control Engineer
Job Description
• Responsible to control and monitor projects total expenditure including verifying of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are analysed, approved and properly recorded.
• Provide support to the estimation dept. during tendering stage while analysing the unforeseen activities and the risk factors cost impacts
• Performs Quantity Survey activity during Tendering stage to assure alignment of costing with quantities/scope especially in Lumpsum projects
• Utilize his construction knowledge in cost breakdown during tendering stage
• Support in formalizing the project budget with the PMO team
• Provide planning and cost controlling support for all projects which includes variations
• Reporting, monitoring of activities progress to the preparation of Client Invoicing
• Perform and manage project activities scheduling and monitoring
• Perform technical and commercial review of (subcontractor’s quotations) for the preparation of agreements/ POs
• Ensure effective project implementation and utilize productive reports from the creation of WBS with the use of project management tools to monitor the status of all purchases, invoicing, and delivery up to the closure of the project.
• Coordinate and work with the project management team to resolve project issues to ensure the delivery/completion of the project work.
• Perform project costing related reporting to the team and management’s review to ensure that expenditures are kept within the project’s budget.
• Provide cost control and planning advice to the team and management as and when required.
• Provide the lessons learned and corrective actions for each project or milestone.
• Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as required.
Requirements and skills
• Degree in Engineering
• Specialization in Project Management or Cost Control
• 5-7 years relevant and similar capacity in project estimating and cost controlling especially in fit-out projects in Saudi Arabia
• Technically strong in project cost planning, scheduling, and reporting.
• Knowledge in the use of MS Project, Primavera Scheduling
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Possess good project background and technical writing ability and skills.
• Mature, proactive, resourceful, and hands-on with good initiative.
• Independent worker who can work well with minimal supervision.
• Fast worker with ability to work well under stress.
• AutoCAD, Primavera, MS Projects, and MS application
