We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Executive Director of Programs. The individual will be responsible for overseeing programs’ strategic planning and operation with a view of developing and implementing long term organisational strategic objectives and KPIs and, providing strategic direction to all programs to deliver successful projects though and with international partners globally. Also, responsible for providing strategic support to CEO and proactively align programs with internal and external trends to improve it’s performance and operations.

Job Responsibilities

Lead foundation’s programs within the strategic and accountability frameworks established by the CEO.
Formulate programs short and long term goals and objectives to ensure that the foundation maintains focus on achieving its vision, mission and program strategy.
Direct foundation’s programs in implementing departmental strategies that are aligned to the programs’ short and long term strategic objectives.
Oversee the programs business development and opportunity identification activities.
Assume responsibility for the overall health of the programs, ensuring that all business transactions are carried out in accordance with local and international laws and regulations.
Ensure that all processes within the programs are operating effectively and efficiently toward achieving high performance standards.
Ensure that management receives needed advice and information in a timely, thorough and appropriate manner.
Responsible for the short and long term strategic and financial planning of the programs and co-lead the review and implementation of the financial strategy and required controls.
Manage the delivery of effective and transparent narrative, financial and impact reporting of the programs to the senior management and external communications.
Mobilize financial and non-financial resources to cover the costs of the projects and ensure the successful implementation and financial sustainability of enterprise program.
Manage programs’ involvement in foundation’s budget plan, review processes, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
Ensure mechanisms are in place to regularly review and monitor the technical, operating and financial performance of the programs and take appropriate corrective actions to achieve goals and targets.
Work with foundation’s international partners (NGO’s/UN Agencies) to develop and implement country/international-level programming and resource development.
Represent the foundation in meetings with other partners, NGOs and external organizations and serve as a representative with a variety of public, business and community groups and organizations.
Foster collaborative working relationships with key external stakeholders and partners to the benefit of the programs and the foundation.
Provide support for external meeting preparation and content input for key external communications including events, publications and media engagement.
Oversee identification and resolution of the program issues and implement improvements to ensure Programs stays on course.

Order to be successful in this role you will bring;

Master’s degree in a relevant field & 15+years of relevant full-time work experience, 8 of which at a leadership level.
Previous experience with an international NGO .

Other Requirements

Comprehensive knowledge of the fields of, philanthropy and international development
Having an experience working for large international development organizations (such as INGOs, UN, etc.)
Have experience coordinating and supporting multiple country programs
Ability to develop and implement plans and their budgets in complex and frequently changing environments
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage programs
Good knowledge of Project Management Skills, Tools and Techniques
Good knowledge of Change Management Skills, Tools and Techniques
Demonstrate high level of leadership, managerial and technical expertise
Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the senior leadership team and liaise effectively with them
Demonstrate commitment to the highest standards of integrity, personally and in the organization
Demonstrated ability to rapidly develop strong working relationships with key external stakeholders
