As a Career Counsellor, you will play a crucial role in guiding individuals towards fulfilling and successful career paths. Your primary responsibility will be to provide career guidance, support, and expertise to clients, assisting them in making informed decisions about their professional journeys. You will utilize your knowledge of various industries, job market trends, and personal assessment tools to help individuals explore career options and develop effective strategies for achieving their goals.

Responsibilities:

Conduct one-on-one career counselling sessions with clients to understand their backgrounds, interests, skills, and goals.
Administer career assessment tools and interpret the results to help clients gain insights into their strengths, preferences, and areas for development.
Assist clients in exploring and researching different career options based on their unique profiles and interests.
Provide information on educational programs, training opportunities, and professional certifications that align with clients’ career goals.
Help clients develop effective job search strategies, including resume writing, interview preparation, and networking techniques.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, labor market information, and emerging career opportunities to provide accurate and relevant guidance.
Collaborate with educational institutions, employers, and professional associations to facilitate internship and job placement opportunities for clients.
Organize and deliver workshops, seminars, and career fairs to enhance clients’ career development skills and knowledge.
Maintain records of client interactions, including assessments, career plans, and progress updates.
Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of career counselling interventions and make adjustments as needed.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, human resources, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
Proven experience in career counselling, preferably in a counseling center, educational institution, or career services setting.
In-depth knowledge of career development theories, assessment tools, and counseling techniques.
Familiarity with various industries, job market trends, and educational pathways.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to guide clients through complex career-related challenges.
Proficiency in using career assessment tools and online resources for career exploration.
Familiarity with LinkedIn and other professional networking platforms.
Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple client cases and administrative tasks effectively.
Adherence to professional ethics and confidentiality guidelines.
