Job Description:
Undertake teaching at the Foundation level
Participate in the invigilation of exams
Provide timely feedback of coursework and exams and other kinds of assessments
Prepare and administer all tools of assessment as appropriate
Contribute towards the development and review of courses and programs
Provide general support and guidance to students
Maintain office hours to meet with students
Serve as an academic advisor to students
Supervise and participate in student extra-curricular activities
Keep up to date with advances in teaching and learning pedagogy
Maintain continuing professional development
Contribute and participate in faculty seminars
Serve the academic community by organizing seminars, conferences and editing papers and documents
Carry out the duties of the post in accordance with the policies and regulations of the college
Demonstrate academic excellence and provide an education that contributes to the academic mission of the college
Attend to other matters that may be assigned by the department Head from time to time
Qualifications: Bachelors/Masters in English
Teaching Qualification : CELTA
Abilities: Developing teaching and assessment materials; Managing time and working to deadlines; Communicating clearly and tailoring style to meet the needs of students; Using educational technology in teaching; Working collaboratively
Other characteristics such as personal characteristics: Interpersonal and conceptual skills
Experience: Experience teaching in tertiary education
Remuneration: As per qualification and experience and as per Oman Dental College regulations for this position.
