Electrical Safety Officer/Engineer (Electrical Safety Inspection Service and Compliance)
The candidate is expected to operate with independence and autonomy and will be required to act with a degree of initiative and discretion on matters of a sensitive nature. At times he will be required to work with, and under the guidance of other Electricity Standards and Safety staff.
Knowledge and experience of technical aspects in relation to electrical worker training and the proven ability to apply such knowledge to the electrical safety functions undertaken by the branch.
High level interpersonal and communication skills (including computer skills) and the proven ability to effectively negotiate, liaise and consult with others, including resolving conflict with key stakeholders in a changing environment.
The ability to analyze, investigate, research, plan, evaluate, and solve complex electrical technical issues.
Extensive knowledge in the application of ISO OHS45001 SEC Standards, and a demonstrated knowledge of electrical safety and demonstrated ability to apply such knowledge in a regulatory environment.
High level self-management skills including the proven ability to effectively develop, plan, manage and implement programs within given time frames, and coordinate the activities of other staff within the division including engaged consultants.
Ability to work as a team member of a highly specialized group with a common goal to improve electrical safety both in the workplace and the community.
