The Senior Health, Safety, and Environmental (S-HSE) Manager will be responsible for creating and sustaining a safe and productive work culture by avoiding and/or minimizing HSE-related challenges, which include injury, unsafe working conditions/practices, and environmental degradation. This will be accomplished by raising awareness about HSE expectations, developing a safe working culture, and creating a safety program execution.
Job Description
The purpose of this position is to manage the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) function and lead the HSE team to create and sustain a productive work culture and safe work environment to avoid and minimize HSE-related problems. These problems include but are not limited to the prevention of human injury, environmental degradation, and unsafe working conditions/practices. Provide leadership and oversight of health, safety, and environmental training, programs, and processes with a visible and uncompromised commitment to protecting the environment and the productivity of the JODC’s employees.
Manage and train subordinates assigned to her/his area on HSE activities on Total Installed Cost (TIC) large-scale projects or multi-projects; duties may include the calculation and control of HSE budgets, staffing requirements and schedules; preparation of certification/classification programs, and the preparation of the supporting HSE documents; coordination and execution of safety cases and support studies; Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA); Process Hazard Analyses (PHA); Fire Protection Specifications (FPS) and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)as required by certification or regulatory entities.
Provide guidance, assistance, and advice to business lines, project management, and Company organizations through interpretation and promulgation of JODC HSE practices and procedures in relation to client requirements and current legislation and regulations.
Make decisions on engineering/scientific problems and methods relating to HSE using advanced techniques, modifications, and extensions of theories, precepts, and practices of the particular field, related sciences, and disciplines.
Investigate incidents and accidents to identify causal factors and recommend corrective actions in collaboration with the company and the client.
Oversight and management of workplace safety orientations for new employees and refresher workplace safety training for existing employees.
Conduct quarterly comprehensive safety audits at each project site.
Lead the implementation of HSE programs, including project site-based HSE orientation, recognition, and awards programs, to all levels of project and facility staff to promote a balance between productivity and the safety of project/facility staff and visitors in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Run gap analyses to identify and address program gaps that may occur between JODC practices, client requirements, and regulatory/legislative requirements to confirm that the project conforms to JODC, client, and regulatory/legislative requirements.
Provide leadership to initiate, foster and maintain HSE standards and goals through Company and/or project-wide HSE programs to heighten awareness and promote a safe and productive work environment.
Adhere to and support JODC’s Health, Safety & Environmental, and Sustainability Policies.

Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, or equivalent education and experience.
5 -10 years of progressive HSE experience, including administering multiple HSE programs.
Broad-based knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations, including OSHA certifications ISO14001.
Has leadership and management experience.
Proficient in Microsoft programs, including Excel and Word.
Possess thorough knowledge and understanding of HSSE/OSHA standards.
Excellent oral and verbal communication skills/bilingual are a plus.
Public speaking experience is a plus.
Analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
Ability to lead and influence others.
