Sr. Software Development Controller Main Objectives

Enhance efficiency in operations by planning, analyzing and implementing projects on software applications and development. Identify user requirements and develop customized applications to suit their needs. Support and maintain software applications within the company. Liaise with team to ensure completion of assigned projects as per timelines and defined quality standards. Be available for stand by and call out duties as and when necessary. Undertake any other duties as assigned by his/her department head.

Main Duties

o  Identify software support section’s operational requirements and coordinate with various stakeholders within section to execute these efficiently.

o  Focused meetings with units to identify user requirements and services to be offered; this includes site visits to ensure standardization of requirements.

o  Coordinate and deploy team for adherence to quality standards across the company;

o  Undertake feasibility studies through data analysis for identified user requirements; this includes complex technical studies of operations, identify areas of improvement in operational procedures.

o  Conduct extensive secondary research and leverage market intelligence studies/reports to assess commercial and financial viability of data processing programs; ensure these are conducted in accordance with recognized quality and standards.

o  Identify latest software protocols and procedures and translate these into easy work processes for the team; this includes preparation of charts, programs etc. to implement data processing procedures, study of operating problems and advice on solutions etc.

o  Develop relevant reports (statistical, financial etc.) based on surveys/investigations etc. and report findings/conclusions/recommendations for further development.

o  Ensure effective project management through participation in project planning and resource allocation.

o  Liaise with external entities to identify and obtain upgrade/patch requirements, evaluate and recommend readymade packages etc.

o  Liaise with internal entities to ensure implementation and maintenance of applications and data over the network.

o  Conduct extensive secondary research on latest software guidelines and processes and coordinate with senior to incorporate these in BAS context.

o  Ensure adherence to IT protocols / database security in accordance to Disaster Management Recovery mechanisms.

o  Key point of contact for seniors for updates on software status and related queries.

o  Monitor escalations and resolve queries as required ensuring uninterrupted operations Refer to seniors as and when required.

o  Monitor efficiency in handling software measures through adherence of strict quality standards established and in compliance with procedures.

o  Seek inputs from subordinates, identify discrepancies / escalations if any, investigate and report accordingly to seniors.

o  Implement processes and policies related to Software Development section to ensure the operational efficiency of the unit.

Comply with the Company and Airport authorities’ health, safety, and security regulations.

Minimum Requirements

o  Degree in Computer Science.

o  Professional certificate in related softwares (Oracle is a must. Other softwares like SQL/Java/Visual Basic/C++/.NET are an advantage).

o  7 years experience in designing and implementing systems of a large organization/airline with at least 2 years in a supervisory position.

o  Oracle based experience in ERP, Financial, and HR systems is an added advantage.
