The Senior Risk Officer reports directly to the Manager of Risk and Compliance. The Senior Risk Officer is a business supportive and risk disciplined individual who executes effective Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework and process within the company, provides ERM reports and dashboards that translates into informed decision-making practices to support BAS unique business model and strategic plan. The Senior Risk Officer will coordinate with all departments to identify, assess, and make recommendations that will manage and mitigate the company’s operational risks, and will prepare Board level reports and dashboards.
Main Duties
o Support the Manager of Risk and Compliance in the execution of an effective Enterprise Risk Management framework and process within the company.
o Coordinate with risk owners to identify, assess, and make recommendations that will manage and mitigate the company’s risks.
o Follow up with the risk owners (BAS Managers and Leaders) on the risk mitigation plans and prepare status reports.
o Maintain risk inventory and related documentation such as risk registers up to date with the latest information and status.
o Prepare periodic reports on ERM, as required, for Management, Audit and Risk Committee, and Board of Directors.
o Monitor and report on adherence to and consistency of the approved risk appetite framework, risk tolerances, and risk profile.
o Identify known and emerging risks and measure, monitor, and report on BAS risk profile.
o Advocate and support the culture of informed risk-taking, heighten awareness and use of advanced risk management practices through training programs and coaching.
o Explore analytical systems and data management capabilities to support the automation of risk management programs.
o Conduct risk awareness sessions to ensure that individuals engaged in risk management are:
o Updated about risk management policies, processes, and practices.
o Developed with appropriate risk management skills and competencies.
o Aware of internal controls and risk mitigation plans.
o Establish a high level of trust and credibility by building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
o Review and update ERM Policies and documentation to reflect changes in processes.
o Complying with Company’s and airport authorities’ Health, Safety & Security regulations.
o Carries out other similar or related duties, as assigned by the department manager.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in any Business or Engineering field
o Professional qualifications such as ORM, PRM, APRM, GRC, CPA, CIA, or equivalent
Experience:
o 3 years of work experience in risk management/auditing/operations
o Experienced in conducting risk assessments and evaluating controls
Other Essential Requirements:
o Excellent English and Arabic languages are written and spoken
o Excellent communication and presentation skills
o Good knowledge of preparing Board level PowerPoint dashboards and slides
o Strong in critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving
o Good knowledge of risk management, ISO 31000, and COSO ERM Framework
o Demonstrated experience in utilizing quality tools and attention to detail
o Computer literacy
