POSITION :Post Tension Design Engineer
DEPARTMENT: Design
Job brief:
Post tension design engineers are primarily concerned with analysis and design of floor slabs and
foundations that are safe and capable of withstanding the elements to which they will be exposed, as well
as improving the structural integrity of existing buildings. Engineer is responsible for designing any kind
of structure so that it can fulfil a specific purpose, and remain safe, economic and functioning throughout
its intended lifetime. Engineer should assess the immediate loads and demands on the structure, as well as
any likely future changes, and ensuring a structure is designed to withstand those loads.
Responsibilities:
Working closely on construction plans with clients, architects, and other professionals
Preparing reports, designs and drawings
Making calculations about loads and stresses
Using computer simulations to predict how structures will react under different conditions
Inspecting unsafe buildings and recommending options for repairs or demolition
Selecting appropriate construction materials and Providing technical advice
Obtaining planning and/or building regulations approval
Liaising with relevant professional staff such as architects
Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors
Requirements:
Need a degree or postgraduate qualification in structural or civil engineering with minimum
5 years of experience in consultancy firms.
Hands on experience in Ram Concept PT and AutoCAD softwares.
Well versed with British and ACI design codes.
Sound Knowledge on design of flat slabs, transfer beams and slabs.
Should visit site and verify the PT Tendon/reinforcement as per design drawings.
Good communication, inter-personal and technical skills.
Good problem-solving skills and Familiarity with computers and software programmes
The ability to analysis complex problems and assess solutions
The ability to explain design plans, ideas and meet deadlines
