The Role

The Student Life Co-ordinator performs tasks and provides high-level planning, organizing, and delivery of co-curricular and extra-curricular programs for students. The person is responsible for coordinating student cubs, organizations, programs, and events within the university. The person in this role will help to create a learning community that contributes to the overall student experience.

The Careers Advisor’s main role will be provide career counselling, to assist the students to find out on employment opportunities and to make informed decisions, develop strategies and career plans. The person will be also responsible for helping the students to present themselves effectively at interviews etc. The person will be also responsible to act as a link between the employer and the students/graduates and help in finding employment opportunities.

Key duties and responsibilities

Full logistical organization of events, excursions, program trips, including travel arrangement, and budget management. Provide administrative support to the department, peers and faculty, and undertakes duties as appropriately tasked. This person will be also responsible for Health & well-being, International Student Support, Mentoring programs, Financial Advice, Mental Health Support, to support Disability & Special Needs students, First Aid, and dealing with Harassment/Discrimination.

To help the students and the graduates in finding employment by arranging interviews. To offer guidance for the interview and support the students and the graduated to prepare the CVs, cover letters and guide the students on choosing the right career path. Organising career events by inviting employers or representatives from professional bodies. Visit employers and professional bodies to get information about opportunities, recruitment procedures, and policies, and informing the students, motivate them to apply for such positions.

Education, qualifications, and experience

Competent in the use of relevant IT systems
Educated to at least degree or equivalent practical experience in the workplace
Experience of working within a similar environment as outlined above
Excellent English language skills including writing, speaking, and comprehension
Undertake continuous personal and professional development.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of providing face-to-face student interaction in a higher education context. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds into consideration during the process.
