Emirates Park Zoo and Resort
Educator is responsible for educating visitors about the animals kept at the zoo and making awareness to promote and potentiate participants to contribute for conservation and sustainability efforts.
Duties
1. Public Awareness about conservation, Eco systems and Animal Welfare to promote conservation efforts and to enhance flora and fauna protection. This exchange of information can be conducted formally or informally.
2. Engage with schools and visitors by providing information about Emirates Park Zoo and its collection of animals.
3. Present live animal presentations and education demonstrations
4. Provide guided tours for the schools and public.
5. Experience developing, coordinating, and implementing in-person education programming and virtually connecting fieldtrip and assembly content to standards-based classroom content
6. Ability to lead effectively, working with cross functional teams and others

9. Training newcomers (Educator Aids)
10. Interact with veterinarians, nutritionists, Trainers, zoo keepers, and other zoo staff to keep up to date with the latest happenings at the zoo and its animals.
11. Contribute and conduct ex-situ educational presentations and exhibitions to increase public awareness/public knowledge and interesting about flora and fauna by opening floor for them to be a link to conserve animals. (That may involve bringing and handling live animals.)
12. Preparing educational materials. These items may include posters, brochures, banners, workbooks, other handouts.
13. Handle guest concerns and resolve problems in a manner that is polite, helpful, and accurate
14. Communicates with the public in a courteous and tactful manner and assist guests with questions and directions to various areas of the Animal Habitats. Addresses the guest โ does not wait to be asked.
15. Answer questions, provide accurate information and interaction with visitors in a manner that is welcoming and encourages repeat visits.
16. Engage with Volunteers and Interns of EPZ to achieve Zoo goals.
17. Participate in producing videos, taking photos, and creating multimedia presentations used to promote the zoo and its programs.
18. Educate people to give correct foods for Animals to keep them healthy through educational and interactive talks (This involves Engaging with staff stations in Petting Zoo area, Monkey area, Giraffe area, Animal Paradise, and Domestic area)
19. Provide experiences for visitors to enable them to make choices about their impact upon the Environment. (Both positive and negative).

Education Qualifications and skills
1. Diploma or bachelorโs degree in Natural Sciences, education, communications, zoology, biology, animal science, or a related field.
2. Two years working with the public in a service-oriented job, and public speaking experience
3. Excellent language proficiency. (Ability to communicate through more than one language included English and Arabic is mandatory. French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, and Hindi is preferred)
4. Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to adapt to audiences of different ages and learning abilities.
5. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and to stand and maintain alertness for long periods of time.

7. Animal handling included small mammals, birds, and reptiles.
8. Excellent customer service skills
9. Ability to work in multicultural team.
