Job Title: Senior Energy Engineer
Position Reports to: Energy Efficiency Manager
Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
SUMMARY: Technical lead to deliver the full technical range of energy performance project; including energy engineering studies, conducting energy audit (ASHRAE Level II & III), manage and coordinate with functional disciplines and departmental including Safety, Commercial, Planning, Operation and QA/QC.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform energy engineering studies, carry out energy audit, conduct and supervise on-site spot measurements, short-term & long-term data logging and collection
Prepare detailed energy audit activities planning for resources and on-site measurements
Perform on-site trouble shooting and data logging using analytical and engineering sound capabilities to validate and correct systems performance and assumptions to better support energy analysis
Format collected energy data, analyze energy consumption, use mathematical calculations of energy usage and system performance to balance/calibrate the energy end use, identify and prioritize energy savings opportunities supported with feasibility studies
Perform energy saving calculation and ensure energy solutions design including sizing, design intent, control logic, bill of quantities and specifications provided to the project team
Analyze building management and control systems, systems control logic and proper functioning
Examine and evaluate specific engineering or design issues related to building operation and energy use, and evaluate and develop alternative appropriate solutions
Produce clearly written and effective executive level technical reports and recommendations with supported documentation. Present executive summary reports to the client
Analyze, interpret, and create graphical representations of energy analysis, findings and proposed solution
Work with Energy Efficiency Manager to define the best technical approach to meet project scope requirements and satisfy the client expectation
Perform the assigned duties with minimal supervision.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is essential
Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office environment including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project and Outlook
EXPERIENCE:
Requires minimum of 5 years of experience as an energy engineer or in energy efficiency industries
A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems principals with demonstrated experience in building energy systems and high performance design, especially HVAC systems and building management system and controls
Demonstrated experience of managing energy use databases, energy analysis/calculation, normalizing energy use over multiple variables, energy use forecasting, develop energy consumption baseline and adjustments
Proficiency in building and campus central plant designs, operating strategies, and equipment performance selections
Demonstrated experience with field measurements using energy audit tools
Demonstrated experience in technical writing and preparation of technical proposals
Knowledge of building cooling load and energy simulation software programs such as eQUEST (DOE2), IES, Trane-Trace, and Carrier HAP
Research and monitor new technologies and industry outreach on energy efficiency, conduct related analysis, and develop feasibility metrics.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, able to work with a minimum of supervision
Proficiency in English. Arab speaking will be an advantage
