Estimation Engineer is responsible for overseeing and finalizing commercial & technical requirement estimations, preparation and submission of RFQ / Query responses, and client relationship management. The incumbent, in coordination with key stakeholders, gives priority to maximize the revenue and profit margins for the Contracting business by successfully converting more client contracts with best pricing strategy to meet customer expectations and service requirements.

Key Responsibility areas & Activities

‒ Assess the type of tender, client and closing date of tender to determine prioritization of all tenders.

‒ Analyze drawing, specifications and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.

‒ Analyze data for determining its effect on various factors like, site, location, machinery requirement, specialized materials, on field labors, etc.

‒ Prepare, issue, receive and review supplier and subcontractor proposals and pricing.

‒ Coordinate with client on all changes in scope, questions or clarifications regarding the work, during the bidding process.

‒ Acts as a resource to project management during the award / start-up phase to clarify any issues regarding what was considered in the estimate including materials and methods of work.

‒ Reviews budget and project profitability status and goals with supervision and project team as required. Seeks input on corrective measures to continuously improve the identification and accuracy of cost figures;

‒ Acts as a resource for project management by providing cost information and developing cost estimates for changes in work.

‒ Prepare details of various projects, analyze projects, compile analysis for evaluation and develop estimation reports.

‒ Review and record existing project estimates and tally records with previous estimates and with current results.

‒ Maintain current and previous estimation records and refer to it occasionally for ensuring range of accuracy, compliance and completeness in evaluated results.

‒ Collaborate with operations team to determine exact scope of work required, to aid estimation.

‒ Provide technical support to team members regarding estimation process and assist project managers with bid analysis.

‒ Monitor and review data and information to detect or assess problems

‒ Investigate and identify cost reduction opportunities through cost analysis review

‒ Support all activities in cost estimating and take a proactive approach towards improvements.

‒ Liaise with stakeholders and support management decisions by providing appropriate cost information and data.

‒ Work with stakeholders to ensure estimates are accurate and to make appropriate adjustments and resolve issues

‒ Analyze supplier quotes and provide information and data, which aids communications with suppliers and customers and achieves cost optimization.

‒ Support supplier meetings and negotiations to challenge quotation prices and aim for cost reductions to meet target costs

‒ Support and utilize experience to aid best practice in the supplier process in conjunction with members of the purchasing team

Liaise with purchasing department to provide continued feedback to ensure competitive pricing

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

Qualifications and Experience :

‒ Bachelors’ degree in engineering, Civil Engineer is preferred

‒ 4-5 yr. experience in similar role

Job Specific Skills :

Advance Level in Microsoft Office skills.
English Language
