Profile

Working independently, the PM will execute fast-track fit-out projects for retail stores, F&B outlets, hotels, and commercial offices. The PM will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and management of multiple projects by leading multi-disciplinary teams including subcontractors through project activities to meet client requirements and complete projects successfully, safely, within quality, within budget and on-time.

Duties and responsibilities

This exciting opportunity involves working through pre and post contract stages of the project life cycle as follows:

Pre contract:

Assist the proposal management function, particularly in scheduling and resourcing
Provide the project management of single (large) and multiple (smaller) projects within an overall master programme of works
Manage all disciplines within the business along with external supply chain management
Take various projects from end-to-end and ensure compliance with the business standards

Post contract:

Specify project objectives and plans including delineating scope, budgeting, scheduling, setting performance requirements, and selecting of project subcontractors and supply chain
Maximise resource efficiency (labour, materials, and equipment)
Implement various operations through proper coordination and control of planning, contracting and construction in the entire process
Maintain accurate records of construction progress throughout the projects’ life cycle
Take overall responsibility for the construction sites, and manage vendors and other trades
Communicate with clients and their consultants professionally and in a timely manner
Manage costs to budget and ideally ensure projects are completed underbudget without compromising on the quality of delivery
Manage health and safety on sites and drive a culture of health and safety within our employees and those of our partners and vendors
Define the responsibilities and management structure of the project management team
Organise and lead by implementing project controls
Define roles and responsibilities and develop communication protocols
Identity elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to buildability issues, potential delays, and life cycle defects problems
Manage the rectification process on-time and on-budget
Compile and submit Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manuals to the clients upon project completion
Manage close out procedure for all projects in accordance with contractual obligations and to high quality standards thereby compelling clients to give a positive review or testimonial

This will also involve responsibility for specific activities e.g. defining the responsibilities and management structure of the project management team; organising and leading by implementing project controls; defining roles and responsibilities and developing communication protocols, as well as identifying elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to buildability issues, potential delays and life-cycle defects problems

Personal qualities

We are looking for a skilled and versatile Project Manager in KSA who:

Minimum of 10-12 years similar experience in an interior fit-out contracting company
At least 6-7 years’ experience of managing teams of people, preferably on multi-site projects
Ability to effectively manage single or multiple projects from award of project, through the different stages of implementation, up to handover stage
Very strong technical, execution and commercial abilities with sound knowledge of the woodworking business particularly the technical aspects relating to joinery and good manufacturing practices of timber, veneers, hardware, etc
Proven track record as a successful PM in a fit-out contracting business
Very good knowledge of the KSA market (i.e., the network of clients, sub-contractors, and suppliers)
Successful track record of working on all types of projects. e.g., hospitality, F&B, retail, entertainment, health, education
A very good knowledge of latest developments in the fit-out market. The candidate should be well-versed with the current trends and news influencing market and be able to suggest ideas to boost the Company’s industry presence and build our brand
Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in a multinational market environment
