Our client, a prominent and world-renowned internationally affiliated specialty hospital, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, are currently seeking to employ a qualified Consultant Rheumatologist to join their growing team.
Candidates not currently holding a US board certification obtained from the US or a CCT from the UK cannot be considered at this time as that is the basic criteria for this role.
The Consultant Rheumatologist is responsible for the care of patients with Rheumatologic diseases to assure implementation of recommended guidelines and assure the state-of-the-art care.
Essential function:
· Responsible for providing comprehensive consultation to patient care in Rheumatology. Including OPD and in-patient consultations on as need basis.
· Participates in review and planning activities relevant to the development of the Rheumatology service and the clinic.
· Fulfills professional requirements for continuing maintenance of competence in all aspects of Rheumatology.
· Carries out other assigned duties within the appropriate scope of knowledge, skills and abilities of the position as directed by the HOD.
· Provide comprehensive, evidence based and cost-effective diagnosis, investigation, and management of patients with rheumatic disease and osteoporosis.
· Counsel patients and the broader community on the prevention of and rehabilitation in rheumatic diseases.
· Communicate effectively and compassionately with referring primary care physicians, specialists in medical subspecialties, surgeons, allied health professionals, patients, and their families on the continuing care of rheumatology patients.
· Function as a member of the health care team and coordinate the team as appropriate.
· Contribute to the education of the patients and their families.
· Perform necessary technical skills specific to the management of patients with rheumatic diseases.
· Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
· Undertake accurate self-appraisal, develop a personal continuing education strategy, and pursue lifelong mastery of Rheumatology to maintain and improve professional skills.
