Mechanical Technician (RO)

Job Summary
Works under the direction of Mechanical Supervisor/Engineer, to execute all Preventive, Corrective, and Condition-based maintenance activities, annual outage, and overhauling work activities on plant equipment with strict adherence to safety.
Roles & Responsibilities
1 Comply with SAWACO safety rules and regulations.
2 Perform all the maintenance activities in the plant in a timely and safe manner with strict adherence to the maintenance procedures and work instructions applicable for the respective activities. Document maintenance concerns/history for the equipment.
3 Report to Mechanical Supervisor for spare parts and consumables required for the activities and update spares availability to cope up with the maintenance requirements.
4 Ensure proper isolations are carried out before starting the maintenance activity on the respective equipment released for maintenance in coordination with Mechanical Supervisor and local operator.
5 Trouble-shoot and diagnose problems and perform maintenance on equipment under his jurisdiction.
6 Installs, adjusts, inspects, services, and repairs a variety of static and rotating mechanical equipment utilized in desalination plants.
7 Responsible and accountable for proper care of tools, lifting equipment, or any other related devices which are required to carry out his assigned jobs.
8 Carry out all necessary preparation required for mechanical maintenance to equipment /area assigned to him.
9 Understand working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems.
11 Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
Job Specifications
Educational Desired Diploma in Mechanical Technician OR Worked as Skilled Mechanical Labor in water desalination plants for a minimum of 4 years
Experience
Minimum 4 years in the same position
Preferable Extensive Experience as Mechanical Technician in Water Desalination Plants RO.
experience in Pumps, Shaft alignment pump, turbocharger
Required Skills
1- Generic awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environment Management system principles
2- Be able to work both independently and in a team environment completing objectives efficiently with a sense of responsibility.
3- Be able and willing to work in non-ideal environments such as confined spaces, working at heights, and around chemicals.
5- Knowledge of identification, classification, and disposal of waste
6- Knowledge of environmental and health impact of chemicals being used in the plant
7- Knowledge of firefighting equipment
8- Knowledge of First aid measures
9- Basic Knowledge of Water plant operational activities.
