The employing company is a regional supplier of water and electricity. They own and operate a diverse and growing portfolio of generation and distribution businesses.

The Role

Main responsibilities: This is a senior position within the business with overall responsibility for maintenance of the entire facility with the highest level of safety, including the entire maintenance budget
People development, coaching, mentoring and growing leaders
Managing and optimizing LTSA, work with OEM and non-OEM in establishing optimal solutions
Leading any capital improvement projects after technical and economic analysis and should be familiar with business models
Implementing best practices in maintenance management, outage and contractor management, root cause analysis and help improve the plant’s reliability to world class levels
Maintaining strong relationship with external stakeholders
Performing any other duties, tasks and responsibilities that may be assigned
Requirements
A minimum of ten years of experience in the power industry with progressive career in leadership role with proven success
Spent major portion of his / her career in CCGT plants with experience of GE frame 9E gas turbines and desalination plants being an added advantage
Possess a very strong mechanical, electrical or instrumentation background with equally sound knowledge of all maintenance practices and GGCT operations
Preferably have a 4-year engineering degree, though not mandatory
Possess very strong inter-personal skills with a “whatever it takes” attitude and be willing to spend most of his/her time in the plant in an effort to improve reliability of the facility to world class levels
Possess successful experience in negotiating, planning and working with contractors
Possess strong business, commercial and legal knowledge with very good oral and written communication skills
Be able to formulate, sell and execute strategies
