The Speech & Language Therapist will provide a comprehensive assessment, formulation and intervention service to young people and their families within the specialized CAMHS team

The role is primarily clinical and requires experience in any/all of the following is required:

· Early Intervention, developmental delays and Autistic Spectrum Disorder

· Visual/auditory impairment, genetic syndromes (Trisomy 9, Trisomy 21), Pradder Willi Syndrome, neuropathologies (cerebral palsy, agenesis of the corpus calossum, dyspraxia), PDD and sensory integration difficulties and learning difficulties

· Teenagers presenting with mental health difficulties such as depression, anxiety and personality disorders would be an advantage.

The post holder will:

· Provide a professional speech and language therapy service including appropriate assessment, diagnosis and intervention as part of the work of the team.

· Measure and evaluate therapy outcomes and work in the context of evidence based practice.

· Conduct individual Speech therapy

· Participate in team meetings and work closely with other specialists to ensure appropriate therapy

The post holder reports directly to and works closely with the Head of Speech Therapy.

This service is best suited for professionals who enjoy team work and striving to continuously improve their skills and experience to offer the best possible care to their patients. The successful candidate will need to show evidence of patient-centred care and the ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing motivation and guidance as well as being committed to continuous professional development. Regular trainings and continued professional development are in built in the working of the service.

Bi-lingual (English and French) or Tri-lingual (English, Arabic and French) would be an advantage.
