To manage the department as a professional, efficient, and flexible service ensuring maximum guest satisfaction consistent with company standards, through planning, organizing, directing and controlling the housekeeping.
Primary Responsibilities
Operational:
1) To ensure that all the Janitorial department is managed efficiently according to the established concept statements and adhere to company Policies.
2) To assist in the implementation of a flexible employee base, with the right mix of Full Time and Contractual employees. To allocate employees over the Division based on established business levels fro that day.
3) To assign responsibilities to subordinates and to check their performance.
4) To support staff needs in other Divisions based on the priorities and anticipated business levels.
5) To be available and on duty during peak periods.
6) To handle Client and employee inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report client complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found.
7) To communicate with purchasing Department to ensure the punctual ordering of, cleaning chemicals and ensures the proper handling and storing.
8) To be responsible for the inventory of consumable, cleaning Materials.
9) To communicate with the pest control tech. to ensure that an effective program is instituted and maintained.

Employee Handling
To assist with select and train housekeeping Department employees and Supervisory employees who are able to work within the decentralized management philosophy.
To ensure that each Housekeeping Supervisor plans and implements effective training programs for their staff with the Training Manager and Departmental Trainers.
To ensure that each Housekeeping Supervisors of Department maximizes productivity and morale with their Respective departments and consistently maintain discipline following company Policies & Procedures and local legislation.
To assist in the building of an efficient team of employees through Multi Skilling, Multi Tasking and flexible scheduling and by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety and development.
To develop Departmental Trainers, assign training responsibilities and meet with Departmental Trainers monthly.
To conduct yearly performance appraisal and give employees regular feedback on their job performance.
To ensure that all employees report for duty punctually always wearing the correct uniform and name badge.
To ensure that all employees have a complete understanding of and adhere to the company Employee Rules & Regulations and adhere to the comany policy relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
