Ensures a company functions in a legal and ethical manner while meeting its business goals. The officer will be responsible for developing compliance programs, reviewing company policies, filling reports to adequate authority and advising management on possible risks.

Responsibilities:

Implement and manage an effective policy and procedures compliance program.
Develop and review company policies.
Advise management on the company’s compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports.
Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations.
Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks.
Assess company operations to determine compliance risk.
Ensure all employees are educated on the latest regulations and processes.
Resolve employee concerns about legal compliance.

Requirements:

At least 5 to 7 years proven experience as a Compliance Officer in bank or financial institutions.
Experience in risk management
Knowledge of legal requirements and controls (e.g. AML)
Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards
Excellent communication skills
Integrity and professional ethics
Business acumen
Teamwork skills
Attention to detail
BSc/BA in law, finance, business administration or a related field
Professional certification (e.g. Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)) is a plus
