Position Title: BI engineer
We are currently representing a digital bank that is looking for a BI developer. This role is accountable to define and develop Business Intelligence solutions supporting the Bank’s Data needs, defined by empowering and enabling each business line with the ability to drive decisions based on easy access to actionable data. The hire will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our EDW architecture, ETL pipelines, as well as cube designing and development of dashboards and reports. The BI developer will also support data modelling, data visualizations, the software developers, database architects and data analysts on data initiatives. He/She will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.
The right candidate is self-directed and comfortable in supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. He/She is excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s BI architecture to support the next generation of products and data initiatives.
The BI developer will be responsible to:
Design, develop, and maintain effective layouts for BI Dashboards and Reports.
Liaise with various stakeholders in Business, Risk, Treasury, Finance and Operations to understand their business problems and provide appropriate Business Intelligence solutions by analyzing, designing and implementing reporting and dashboards.
Work closely with businesses to understand the data requirements, business challenges and provide the data insights through engaging and effective data visualizations and reports, using best practices
Work closely with the Data Architect to be able to have an end-to-end vision and understand the Data flow through the successive stages.
Assist in development and optimization of Data warehouse; hands-on ETL development.
Support, conceptualize and create interactive Dashboards with embedded analysis capability.
Work closely to ensure data integrity of data lake and reconciliation process.
Facilitate the creation of metadata/business layers by empowering business partners to enable the adoption of self-service reporting.
Support in preparing and analyzing financial and business performance reports. This includes the preparation and timely submission of all reports and analyses.
Optimize BI solutions to generate business value including continuous innovation, identifying better ways to use data and information.
Prepare and maintain BI reporting and analysis documentations.
Design Conceptual, Logical and Physical data models.
Design Cubes and Semantic data models.
The successful candidate will have the following:
Minimum 4-6years of experience visualizing data through the Power BI platform.
Proficient working on the multi-dimensional cubes and MDX queries
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning or equivalent work experience (1-2 years) in the business or technical world.
Working knowledge of SQL, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS data stack.
Working understanding of applied row-level security.
Demonstrated resourcefulness and independent problem-solving.
Demonstrated logical and critical thinking.
An aptitude for data manipulation and software engineering.
Experience in ETL Tools, Data Modelling, and Data Warehousing.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
