Import Coordinator Jobs in Qatar

An exciting opportunity has opened up within our Commercial team at Chef Middle East. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Arabic speaking Import Clearance Executive to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for shipments to be cleared against original paperwork in compliance with applicable laws in Qatar through effective planning, direction, and coordination of the activities within the department.

Responsibilities

Responsible for processing all shipment clearance documentation ensuring smooth and timely shipment clearance from customs.
Accountable for clearing shipments from MOPH (Ministry of Public Health)
Arrange for shipment clearance payments.
Checking the ETA of the shipment and follow up with shipping line and send the supporting documents to shipping line to get the Delivery Orders
Update the ETA and clearing status with concerned team members.
Comply with Excise Tax declaration on for the shipment clearance, Excise tax product registration and verification on time and other related documentations and follow ups
Communication with other Government Ministries.
Comply and adhere to export or import administration regulations.
Understanding the product details and finding out the correct Tariff Code and co ordinating with clearing agent to proceed the shipment clearance.
Communicating with Customs & MOPH for follow up and queries.
Reviewing commercial invoices, packing lists, BL’s/AWB’s, Food related certificates for any in-accuracy.
Co Ordinating with clearing agent to processing Import and Export Customs bills and make the sure the accuracy of data.
Develop knowledge on customs qualifications, ensure new regulations are understood and implemented where required.
Arabic food label translation and proof reading of miscellaneous documents.
Support Product registration process.

Procurement Support

Identify potential local and overseas vendors.
Negotiate contract, agreements & pricing.
Maintaining and updating supplier information
Compare, analyze, and evaluate offers from suppliers.
Improve Cost of Goods, Manage Provisions, and support costing.
Maintain Vendor data base, update price agreements and records of purchases.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Mandatory)
Fluency in English and Arabic language – read, write and speak. (Mandatory)
Must be familiar with various MOPH, Customs and other related Government non-government bodies. (Mandatory)
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role – Customs Clearance/ Import or Export clearance. (Mandatory)
