As Cloud Specialist/Java Full Stack Cloud Native Developer on Red hat openshift, you will provide programming and leadership to build modern enterprise-scale cloud native applications.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
• Acts as a senior developer and SME in the creation of cloud native applications.
• Makes recommendations for the best product development solutions based on your understanding of market trends, best practices, and cutting-edge development methodologies.
• Collaborates with program or product/Project managers to significantly contribute to the technical aspects of sprint/iteration planning, estimation, risk, dependencies, and user story definition.
• Mentoring and guiding development team members on best practices for cloud native development;
• Hands-on development of cloud agnostic applications that can be deployed in a hybrid multi-cloud environment
• Strong coaching, coding, and skill development mentor for other team members.
• The capacity to produce supporting materials for solutions, such as data flow diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams, and sequence diagrams, is essential.
• To transform the solution into a winning proposal, develop technical approach and project engineering plans, including task and process scheduling and the identification of essential resources.
• Review information provided by customers and additional sources to comprehend prospective challenges or problems currently encountered and build a solution
• Perform POCs, identify potential solutions and help implement them.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Experience in Java application development for at least 8 years
• Experience in Liberty MicroProfile, Spring / Quarkus, for at least 4 years
• Professional experience for at least 4 years in Red Hat OpenShift, IBM, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Write code for complex system designs and that span platforms. Code to and/or create Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
• Knowledge of IBM Watson services as well as experience designing or architecting containerized cloud-based solutions.
• Experience creating and deploying apps in a container environment for at least 4 years
• Experience in SQL / Oracle database development for at least 2 years
• Experience using a CI/CD pipeline and applying DevOps, DevSecOps, and systems reliability engineering concepts for at least 4 years
• Experience in Kubernetes/Openshift for at least 3 years ,Practical experience using native Kubernetes commands and configuration, such as kubectl and YAML resource descriptors.
• Practical experience troubleshooting a openshift environment and deployed code.
• Practical experience building and packaging components/services for K8S deployment as part of a CI/CD pipeline.
• Plus to have implementation knowledge of Service Mesh or similar offerings.
• Good understanding of serverless or vendor-managed Container orchestration platforms like Fargate and ECS.
• Openshift development certified
