Chief Accountant will be responsible for preparation of financial statements, consolidation, accounts analysis and reconciliation, cash flow analysis, audit preparation, internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting in support of the joint venture and compliance with local regulation (SCOPA). Compiling all daily transactions throughout the year as recorded by the Financial Analyst, scrutinizing the payment requests. Monitoring the accounts receivables and accounts payables. Reviewing and approving day to day bookkeeping and assist business for all financial audits, including both internal & external.
Role and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and prepare annual consolidated Financial Statements for the joint venture (GESAT) in accordance with IFRS and other statutory requirement and create audit schedule, draft footnote disclosure, reviewing supporting documentations communicating issues to the external auditor and assist with related documentation and disclosure processes;
Review opening entries for all new joint venture transactions to ensure proper recording of controlling and non-controlling equity interests as well as corresponding minority interest liability and goodwill push-down. Ensures opening entries are booked in accordance with SCOPA, IFRS and other statutory requirement and all relevant pronouncements;
Assist with identification and documentation of the technical accounting matters as they relate to the financial statements and provide assistance, support, and guidance to other departments and business units as they needed;
Support as needed in the budgeting and forecasting of GESAT’s finances;
Oversight of the closing, consolidation and reporting processes to ensure a high level of data quality and accurate financial data;
Work closely with various internal departments to ensure an efficient closing and reporting process;
Provide technical assistance, support and guidance to the business units and internal customers on various topics such as reporting requirements, data validations, closing processes, financial reports, and exceptional transactions;
Audit interface support for both internal and external audit engagements;
Assists with the preparation and delivery of financial reports to internal and external stakeholders;
Compiling all daily transections as recorded by the Financial Analyst and consolidate them to Financial Statements;
Scrutinizing the invoice booking and payment requests;
Monitoring and follow up with the accounts receivables and accounts payable;
Preparing management information systems and other financial reports for review meetings, Auditors and Audit Committees;
Reviewing and approving day to day book keeping and guiding Financial Analyst for quality recording of financial transactions;
Responsible for completing any other tasks assigned by Finance Manager.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of IFRS and SOCPA;
Knowledge of financial consolidation and preparation of financial statements;
Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles.
