Payroll Accountant

We are looking for an  Payroll Accountant who is responsible for the preparation and processing of payroll for client employees.

Roles and Responsibilities

· Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.

· Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, budget and other departments of clients to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data

· Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, travel, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.

· Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, sickness, and nontaxable wages.

· Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer’s social security, and workers compensation payments

· Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

· Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.

· Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.

· Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

· Ensure that all industry standards accounting laws are followed

· Send suggestions to the Director regarding the issues that affect the payroll accounts

Candidate Profile

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field.

· Minimum 1-2 years of experience in accounting

· Certificate in any professional accounting body would be an added advantage

· Have an eye for detail and accuracy.

· Good computer skills: MS Word, Excel, any accounting software

· Mastery over numbers and being quick with numerical calculations

· Have a high level of integrity, as they will know about the earnings of many employees, confidentiality.

· Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy

· Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure

· Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
