We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Truck Dispatcher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling truck drivers to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods. The Truck Dispatcher will serve as the primary point of contact between drivers, customers, and management, ensuring smooth communication and efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
Schedule and dispatch truck drivers to pick up and deliver goods to designated locations.
Communicate with drivers to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
Coordinate with customers to schedule deliveries and resolve any issues or concerns.
Monitor driver activities and provide support as needed, including routing assistance and troubleshooting.
Maintain accurate records of driver schedules, deliveries, and customer interactions.
Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
Respond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints.
Collaborate with management to optimize routes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
Provide training and guidance to new drivers as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or transportation management is a plus.
Proven experience as a truck dispatcher or in a similar role.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
Proficiency in computer systems and transportation management software.
Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices.
Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
