The Financial Counselor is responsible for identifying and coordinating financial assistance plans, making appropriate recommendations, and helping patients to resolve and find optimal solutions to their financial obligations when undertaking services at HealthPlus Fertility.

The financial counselor is responsible for arranging payment plans and understanding the health insurance regulations outlined by regulatory bodies.

Roles and Responsibilities

Reviews patient insurance information with patient and explain co-payment and coverage for treatment, procedures and medications.
Obtains prior authorizations from insurance companies for treatment, procedures and medications.
Handles all complex financial discussions with patients and families and performs scheduling functions for self-pay patients.
Aware of patient’s right to privacy and questions, when needed, regarding release of information.
Receives and review billing and service charge documents from the clinic and ensures it is accurate
Pro-actively calls patients to discuss financial issues and works with patients and families towards finding the most appropriate solution
Educates other Client Relation Officers on health insurance regulations updates and changes.
Obtains and collects necessary financial data to help qualify patients for the best financing option.
Resolves work-queues for financial clearance within acceptable time-frames to ensure scheduling for patient’s appointment is not delayed.
Continuously seeks creative options for patients to resolve financial obligations to Health Plus.
Develops forms, letters with regards to patient financial responsibility and follow up.
Evaluates medical record documentation and charge coding to optimize reimbursement by ensuring that diagnostic and procedural codes and other documentation accurately reflect and support the outpatient visit, and to ensure that data comply with legal standards and guidelines
Will have to possess and maintain an understanding of financial assistance options such as charity care, other payers, Activity Based Mandates and other legal obligations.
Obtains signatures for all necessary documents (compliance and regulatory such as advanced directives, release of liability statements and other documents required to protect Health Plus interests as well as patient rights).
To provide a positive patient experience through the delivery of high quality customer service.
Observe and maintain confidentiality of information and data relating to patients, staff, service and the organization.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in business or accounting
Experience of at least 2 years in an IVF Center, in a front office role
Fluency in English and Arabic is desirable
