We are looking for a qualified and experienced professional to fill the vacancy of Head of Technical Department – AV. The Head of Technical role is responsible for the Audio, Video & Rigging function of Maestra. As an expert in the field the role requires the incumbent to deliver quality & efficiency of the company’s rental equipment in a safe way and will support the internal team to deliver projects onsite to the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
-Responsible for the overall realization of technical projects within the company; supports the internal team and clients with expert advice and knowledge.
-Manages the day-to-day activity and schedule of the AV department, allocating the appropriate teams to projects, utilizing & booking freelancers where necessary.
-Ensures AV department & equipment is well-maintained for maximum utilization.
-Managing internal rental system and prep-process to ensure best practice for stock management.
-Takes ownership of the overall departmental budget and guardian of budget for technical projects.
-Actively proposes methods to make for cost-efficiency. Negotiates list rates with subcontractors & external freelancers.
-Build, motivate, manage and maintain an effective team of Technical Managers.
-Ensure proper workshop planning and the overall well-being of team.
-Ensure the workshop is fully HSE compliant at all times.
Education, Skills Required
-5+ years’ experience in events and exhibitions and managing technical teams.
-Advanced level of understanding is required with all event technologies and equipment hire industries (audio, video, lighting, projection, etc.).
-Knowledge of complex and large builds.
-Knowledge in working with CAD or Vector-works or any other related software.
