Role Purpose:

Senior Contracts Administrator will engage with the Procurement team to manage with the Subcontractors the Contracts in terms of commercial and legal aspects including the management, negotiation and finalization of variations, delays, and other contractual claims.

Key accountabilities

Manage the commercial and legal aspects of the contract including the management, negotiation and finalization of variations, delays, and other contractual claims
Lead the establishment and maintenance of the contract management function as a high-profile function that enables cost and risk mitigation to the project/program
Work with the Procurement Manager and Project Director/s on contract and project risk management
Ensure that the Delivery Interface Office complies with appropriate policies, procedures and practices for efficient and effective project and contract management, consistency of practice and conformity with government policy and legislative requirements
Provide guidance and support to the Procurement Manager and Project Directors in the preparation of contract documentation in accordance with the agreed risk allocations.
Draft, with legal input, amendments to contracts to suit the agreed risk profiles.
Selection Criteria

Demonstrated understanding of contract terms and conditions and their operative effects.
Demonstrated experience in the commercial and Contractual issues impacting the delivery of major projects, particularly in the design and construction phase
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing a contract management framework
Proven high level project management skills, strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills with demonstrated initiative and flexibility
High level communication skills with the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with people at all levels
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
