The purpose of the job is to direct and coordinate the company’s financial Control and accounting practices to achieve the company’s financial objectives while complying with IFRS and all Omani laws.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop the accounting policies to set internal SBJ standards.
Maintain and implement adequate systems of internal control to ensure accuracy and adequacy of accounting records and documentation and ensure that all documents are properly checked and signed as per the authorized signatories.
Oversee all activities relating to the financial accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, period / end year closing, consolidation and financial reporting.
Direct and oversee the preparation and issuance of year end audited financial statements, and reports required by regulatory agencies.
Reviews funds, banks facilities, pricing of loans and deposits and closely monitor the cash, debt and liquidity position of SBJ.
Determine depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items and advise management on actions regarding the purchase, lease or disposal of such items.
Review the financial sections of all contracts to ensure adherence with the company’s policies and applied standards.
Provide financial reports to SBJ Audit Committee as required.
Serve as the principal contact with the external audit firm.
Set and agree individual goals for all direct reports and evaluate individual performance, providing regular feedback and coaching in line with good people management practices.
Implement tight financial control across various finance activities and preparation of Balance sheet reconciliation on a monthly basis.
Oversee the Financial system and ensure the leverage of the current system by implementing strong system control and financial reporting.
Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.
Professional certificates preferred, e.g. CPA, CMA, ACCA, etc.
Knowledge & Experience:

Minimum 8 years of experience in the finance field and 2 years in Real Estate industry.
Good knowledge and experience in accounting, IFRS, cash management, asset acquisition and disposal and ERP system or other financial system.
