The Business Analyst is responsible for collaborating with the business unit to understand and analyze business requirements, and with the technical team to develop proposed solutions for a web-based product designed for the Kuwait General Administration of Customs (KGAC) modernization which has about 500 processes and over 50 modules.
Responsibilities
Strong analytical and management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into the application and operational requirements
Ability to transfer business knowledge to technical teams which will also involve proper analysis, documentation, and presentation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts
Good command of English and Arabic language
· Handle high demands from the customer as a front-facing representative with utmost competence during the various phases and until the delivery of the project in all aspects related to functional deliverables
Collect, understand, and transmit the business requirements for projects, and translate these into functional specifications and test plans; this includes specifications related to applications, integrations, data migration, and reports
· Document workflows and results of business analysis and obtain sign-off from stakeholders on the specifications
Improve systems by studying current practices and designing modifications
· Collaborate between the customer and the software development team to develop and propose solutions that meet the customer’s business requirements throughout the development lifecycle
· Work amicably with senior QC team members who also function as business analysts for the product
· Maintain best practices
Be very flexible in timings and travel as required
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Application/Engineering/Technology
Master’s Degree in Computer Application/Computer Science or equivalent, with an average above 70%
Business Analyst Certification is a plus and will be given preference
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years experience in Customs, Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Transportation Management / Freight Forwarding / Warehousing Domain Knowledge, a must
Customs domain experience is an advantage
Experience using best practices according to BABOK Standards is a plus
Proven experience in writing documents using UML, Use Case, User Stories, Activity Diagram, EPIC etc., a must
Proven experience in translating business requirements into functional specifications
