As a focal point for the Svitzer Crewing Team, the Regional Crewing Manager will support our local crewing teams deploying our crews across the AMEA region.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the recruitment and onboarding new crewing staff to ensure compliance as per the statutory requirements across the region. Ensure that the crew in AMEA region recruited are in accordance with the Svitzer AMEA Recruitment Policy. Proactively manage crew talent and succession plans while maintaining a resourcing pool of potential crews
Ensure that vessels in AMEA are manned according to legal requirements and SVITZER’s standards for relevant operational activities while ensuring crew statutory compliance across the region
Assist in developing and maintaining regional guidelines for management of crew costs, driving cost efficiency in all crewing related expenditure
Provide inputs on business development / new tender projects. Assist in ensuring that all relevant flag and registry requirements are being met by the AMEA fleet in connection with new business opportunities
Overall responsible for maintaining crewing and manning systems up to date which in this instance are Crew Inspector and Workday. Responsible for monthly FTE reporting, ensuring all countries adhere to HR controls
Accountable for managing the crew falling under the vessels owned by SME
Delivery of crew communication and engagement from a regional perspective included but not limited to producing articles for the crew platform specific to AMEA, alignment with group communications on guidelines and processes for publishing internal articles .
Crew compensation and rewards management for forming conceptualized, proposed and produced a standardized rewards program for all offshore personnel in AMEA
Formation of the crew wellbeing program that ensures Svitzer are consistently taking care of our offshore people. This includes managing initiatives to promote wellness amongst the crews, that they have the necessary provisions in place for rotations and dealing with concerns raised in a timely fashion.
Lead for regional Svitzer AMEA CSR activity, promotion, and alignment to group activities.
Formation of the Crew Manual SOP, processes and procedures related to crewing
Who we are looking for
Tertiary level education as minimum, degree level or formal maritime higher diploma preferred
Demonstrable previous crewing management experience in a maritime environment essential.
Deep knowledge of the crewing / towage / maritime sector required.
Demonstrable experience in developing crew standards and safety procedures
Network within global crewing environment for attracting and resourcing crews for current and new business
Expert knowledge of international crewing regulations including flag state requirements, STCW, ILO, MLC2006 regulations
Pro-active self-starter, team player able to work using own initiative
Able to prioritise and make decisions
Work well under pressure to tight deadlines
Resilient and well-organised
Fluency in written and spoken English
Excellent communication skills appropriate at all levels of the organization
Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management, particularly in a cross functional and matrixed environment
