Pipeline Designer

Position Overview:
He should be in a position to develop all pipeline drawings for PDO, Occidental, & local EPC projects
assuming entire responsibility for FEED and Detailed Design of drawings. Typically accountable to Lead
Engineer Pipelines.
Specific Responsibilities
• Organize inputs and preparation of pipeline engineering deliverables including, routing drawings,
alignment sheets, Pig trap & BVS drawings, Isometrics and MTO for pipeline projects
• Ensure strict compliance with Company’s ISO Quality procedures.
Skills required for Pipeline Designer –
Preferred Education: Diploma in Mechanical
Candidates should be with minimum 6-9 years of experience in Consultancy Organization in the Oil and
Gas Industry
Skills/Competencies Summary:
Technical
• Very good experience in AutoCAD, Google earth and MS-Office software.
• Experience in PDMS, NAVIS WORK, ISO MANAGER, and Micro station will be added advantage.
• Ensures and facilitates an awareness of HSE in all design activities across the discipline
• Familiar with all applicable International (ASME, ANSI, API, ISO, MSS, codes/standards)
• Thorough knowledge of applicable to Shell DEP, PDO, Occidental Oman standards will be added
advantage.
• To prepare Pipeline layout studies during Proposal, FEED and Detail Engineering stages under the
guidance of Lead engineer.
• Preparation of the Plot Plan, Key Plan, Field Area Layouts/ Route map, Alignment sheet, Station
approach, Pipeline GA Drawings for Pig trap & BVS.
• Pipeline routing using Google earth and make Site visits to confirm the same with the co-ordination
of Lead Engineer.
• Preparation of Pipeline details such as corridor crossing details, Road / track crossing details,
SABKHA crossing details etc., preparation.
• Pipeline Design & modeling and Extraction of Pipeline Isometrics, PGAs using 3D (PDMS) & 2D tool.
• Isometric Checking, Clash Checking and 3D Model checking & preparation of bulk MTO will be
added advantage.
• Coordinating with other disciplines for Process information, Pig traps, Civil structures and supports
etc.
• Carrying out all activities related with well pad detail design drawings and subsequent flowline &
header & MSV / manifold engineering.
