JOB SUMMARY

Plan, and direct the operations of the company. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources.

TASKS:

1. Direct and coordinate activities of businesses or departments concerned with the pricing, and sales.

2. Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.

3. Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.

4. Direct and coordinate company’s financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.

5. Establish and implement divisional policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with BU GM, organization officials, and functional managers.

6. Determine staffing requirements conferring with functional managers.

7. Plan and direct activities such as sales promotions, coordinating with other functional heads as required.

8. Determine goods and services to be sold, and set prices and credit terms, based on forecasts of customer demand.

9. Locate, select, and procure merchandise for resale, representing management in purchase negotiations.

KNOWLEDGE:

Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

Mathematics — Knowledge of calculus, statistics, and their applications.

Economics and Accounting — Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

SKILLS:

Management of Personnel Resources — Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.

Cost consciousness ــــــ Awareness of material cost and logistics tools and inventory

Time Management — managing one’s own time and the time of others.

Critical Thinking — using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

Management of Material Resources — Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.

Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

Fluency of Ideas — The ability to come up with a number of ideas about a topic (the number of ideas is important, not their quality, correctness, or creativity).

EDUCATION:

University degree, preferably in, Mechanical Engineering
