Vat Officer, Responsible for adhering to all the excises practice (Governmental Taxes) which includes processing debit and credit notes invoice for specific excise, and to comply with the VAT liabilities for the company’s operations.
Responsible for the preparation, validation and submission of monthly and quarterly VAT returns.
Main Duties
Responsible for ensuring compliance of excise duty data collection, review, consolidate, prepare and pay the monthly duty liability.
Responsible for ensuring accuracy and completeness of processing credit and debit notes invoice for excise duty in the general ledger in accordance with the month end timetable.
Obtain the VAT registration for group of companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain, by working closely with the relevant government bodies.
Prepare, validate and submit the monthly and quarterly VAT returns to the relevant governmental bodies along with processing all relevant payments in a timely manner (this may involve setting up a separate company bank account for VAT only).
Responsible for preparing, validating and submitting monthly reports that are related to VAT returns for all the companies who are registered for VAT.
To assist in implementing the finance system changes required for the accurate recording of VAT by setting up of VAT Account(s) in the system and generating reports.
Responsible for ensuring that all areas of the business for the group of companies are VAT compliant by working closely with: Procurement Department, Commercial, Legal, ICT, Human Capital, etc…
Assist in preparing a procedure that is related to the VAT which needs to be adhered by all the relevant departments, and that it is communicated to the whole organization.
Work closely with third party management consultancies to ensure that the organization is ready for VAT, and that readiness and impact assessment has been conducted and all compliance gaps have been addressed in a timely manner.
Assist in preparing annual financial VAT records that includes meeting the deadline and ensuring that all financial practices and records are complying with International Accounting Standards.
To maintain and update working knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including submission of all the required documents to the concerned authority in a timely manner and meet deadlines set by the superior.
To take part in in the annual budget preparation process from a duty and tax perspective.
Carry out other similar or related duties as assigned or required by the department from time to time.
Comply with the Company and Airport authorities’ health, safety, and security regulations.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Bachelor degree in accounting and finance or equivalent.
Professional Qualifications:
Certificate in accounts.Experience:
3 years’ of experience in accounting.
Experience in VAT transaction is mandatory.
Substantial experience of building effective working relationships with other finance professionals, non-finance managers and budget holders.
