Responsibilities:
Set sales team profit goals and hold team members accountable for goals and recognize or discipline as needed.
Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards, industry and economic trends, and also sales and margin goals.
Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team
Implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure it’s strong presence
Own objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives
Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
Act as a player and a coach – bring on new business, in addition to coaching the sales representatives.
Research ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers & negotiate contracts and rates.
Qualifications:
BS/MS degree in supply chain management, business administration or related field.
Relevant experience in transportation, Sales & logistics industries.
Previous management/supervisory experience preferred.
Successful previous experience as sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
Strong business sense and industry expertise.
Proven record of growing business and starting new accounts.
Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills.
