We are seeking experienced Oracle and MS-SQL Database Administrators. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, administration, and maintenance of Oracle and MS-SQL databases.
Responsibilities
Database installation, configuration, and upgrade: Responsible for installing, configuring, and upgrading the Oracle database software. This includes ensuring that the installation and upgrade process follows best practices and is done in a way that is safe and efficient.
Database backup and recovery: Must set up and maintain backup and recovery procedures to ensure that data can be recovered in case of a disaster or system failure.
Database security: Ensure that the database is secure and protected from unauthorized access, both from internal and external sources. This includes setting up access controls, monitoring user activity, and implementing security patches and updates.
Performance tuning: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and tune the database for optimal performance. This includes analyzing SQL queries, optimizing indexes, and tuning system parameters.
Troubleshooting and problem resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, such as connectivity problems, data corruption, and performance issues.
Capacity planning and resource management: Plan for future database growth and ensure that the necessary resources are available to support the database. This includes monitoring disk space usage, CPU utilization, and memory usage.
Ideal candidate should have 7+ experience and hands on Clustering, Mirroring, Replication, Backup and recovery experience and should be available in Kuwait.
