Statement of Job:

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

To hold a current and relevant First Aid and CPR qualification.
To hold a Level 3 Register of Exercise UAE (REPSUAE) Membership.
Proven track record of continued professional development (CPD) through further education and courses in related fields.
Be able to teach a variety of Group Exercise Classes.
Have three years of experience in the Fitness Industry, with at least one year teaching and leading group exercise classes.

Group Exercise Duties and Responsibilities:

To plan, organize and safely lead Members through group exercise classes appropriate to the fitness level of the Members participating.
To teach group exercise classes in their specific area of expertise (e.g. spinning, kettlebell, yoga, Pilates, etc) to Members.
Teach to various fitness levels at one time and be able to tailor a fitness class to the abilities of the Members.
Demonstrate leadership capabilities and adaptability at the front of a class, making each session fun and enjoyable while motivating Members.
A highly sufficient degree of energy, and have the endurance to complete each fitness class.
Arrive early to each fitness session, at least 15 minutes before the start time of a session to prep, set up, and greet Members.
Meet Members before and after class to answer questions and maintain a positive exercise experience.
To work directly with the class Members and be professional, courteous and friendly.
To take responsibility for straightening up the studio, and audio equipment after class.

Personal Training Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure the Fitness Suite is operated as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures.
Ensure daily opening/closing checklists of the Fitness Suite are completed on time and submitted to the Recreation Manager.
Supervise Members in the Fitness Suite and inform them of corrective measures if necessary in relation to safe exercise techniques.
Confident to teach and demonstrate the use of all varieties of gym equipment in a safe manner (cardiovascular, resistance, free weight, stretching, etc).
Ensure gym etiquette, rules and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Be confident in approaching Members in a polite and friendly manner to address any etiquette concerns.
Maintain fitness equipment and cleanliness in the gym.
Conduct fitness assessments to establish a Members fitness and skill level.
Evaluate Members’ ability, needs, and physical conditions, and develop suitable training programs to meet any special requirements.
Provide advice to Members on health, nutrition and lifestyle changes.
Identify goals and create tailored realistic exercise plans to meet these goals.
Educate and advise your clients to maintain or reach their fitness and health goals.
Monitor Members’ progress and adapt programmes as and when needed.
Create and maintain positive, professional and trusting relationships with Members.
Provide innovative and challenging workouts to keep Members engaged and motivated

Skills, abilities and competencies required:

Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members
Flexible approach to work, assisting with special events as and when needed.
Working knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology and training principles.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Ensures that safety and injury prevention policies and procedures are adhered to by Members; reports accidents and prepares accident reports, as required.
Communication with the Gym Technical Supervisor when unsafe conditions occur or reporting equipment in need of repair.
Keep up to date with the latest personal training and fitness techniques and best practice
Stay in shape, be a role model for Members and hold a physique that Members would aspire to attain.
Other duties are deemed to be essential and fundamental to the operation of The Club’s policies. The essential function of individual positions within the classification may differ. Your Manager may assign reasonable related additional duties to employees consistent with our policy.
