AKP Resources is representing a global leader in the Animal Nutrition & Health industry. On behalf of our client, we are searching for a Business Manager to market and sell their company’s products across Western Europe. This Manager will strive to deliver the sustained profitable growth required by the company and will take responsibility to review technical and scientific information regarding products and development tools for stakeholders’ understanding. This Manager will need strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. Importantly, this Manager should possess knowledge and understanding of the Animal Nutrition & Health industry and the Feed Additives market.

Responsibilities:

– Execute the marketing and sales strategy in order to deliver the area sales targets.
– Develop strong relationships with clients and distributors to maximise sales and revenues.
– Continually prospect for new customers and new business opportunities.
– Visit customers and prospects regularly in order to develop a deep understanding of their business.
– Keep track of customer requirements and provide monthly accurate forecasts.
– Follow the activities of competitors for pricing and features of the competing products offered.
– Negotiate trading conditions with customers in collaboration with the business.
– Take ownership for sales, margin and customer satisfaction.
– Liaise with internal departments and external parties to maintain the highest levels of service.
– Take ownership of customer needs while minimizing losses and to drive improvements.
– Plan and submit weekly journey plans that support the sales strategy.
– Control costs within guidelines.
– Attend sales meetings at the company headquarters in UK, plus any other company meetings.
– Present research and trial data.
– Represent the company at trade shows, events and customer meetings.
– Act as an ambassador of the corporate image and to ensure that the brand is well communicated.
– Actively support the introduction of new products in the area of responsibility.
– Support the business with the development of promotional programs.
– Liaise with external associations and interest groups relevant to the business.

Requirements:

– Educated to degree or advanced degree level in animal science, agriculture, or a related field.
– Hold experience of 5+ years in a sales role, as preferred in animal nutrition and health or related field.
– Be an inspirational manager with proven experience and the ability to develop and drive sales.
– Be a highly proactive individual, with a keen interest to generate new business opportunities.
– Excellent networking, communication and interpersonal skill and hold conflict management skills.
– Hold excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
– Have the ability to analyze market trends and customer needs.
– To have the ability to work under pressure.
– Conduct extensive business travel in the area of responsibility.

The role holder should ideally be located either in Germany. To have fluency in English, also having other languages would be an advantage.
