As an Controller you will be responsible for the safe and expeditious delivery of Air Traffic Services at our airports in accordance with National and/or International Civil Aviation Regulations, policies, procedures and recommendations.

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide aerodrome / approach control services, flight information services and alerting services to aircraft operating in a specific area of responsibility
Support unit management in delivering air traffic control services as per scheduled roster and in compliance with the ATS Operational Manual and regulations
Monitor the serviceability status of equipment essential to the provision of air traffic services and report to the Shift Supervisor
Report failures and potential risks that possibly constitute a safety hazard via the appropriate reporting platform
Abide by instructions and administrative policies issued to staff pertaining to conduct in the operational area.
Report any undesired state and/or incidents as and when they occur to operational management, and to the regulator via the appropriate reporting platform
Promote and support the implementation of the ANS Safety Management System within specific area of responsibility to ensure that safety remains primary to the delivery of Air Navigation Services
Maintain document and procedure control to ensure that the Quality Management System is adhered to within the specific area of responsibility
Maintain a thorough operational knowledge and understanding of the equipment and systems used for the provision of air traffic services in the job function’s specific area of responsibility for compliance.
Maintain a professional demeanor in providing air traffic control services to all concerned parties
Perform any additional tasks that may arise from time to time to meet operational and organizational requirements
Safety responsibilities and accountabilities of this position are detailed in the Safety Management Manual of the organization. The Job holder is required to maintain awareness and knowledge in relation to their safety responsibilities associated with their job function
Educational Qualification:

High secondary school certificate

Professional Certifications:

ICAO 052 (Aerodrome Control)/ ICAO 052 (Approach Control Surveillance) or equivalent
ICAO Level 4 English Language proficiency required. ICAO Level 5 English Language proficiency preferred
Current GCAA class 3 aviation medical
