Job Purpose
Oversee the overall projects Design Management life cycle and managing the relevant stakeholders and venders in line with the principles, objectives and design guidelines outlined in the Development Strategy, Business Plans project associate scope time and cost. Reporting to the Assets Planning & Development Executive Director.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Functional Responsibilities
Oversee the process of gaining approvals on the design process from regulatory authorities
Manage the process of development and presentation of all RCU asset design drawings to relevant stakeholders including sign-off.
Prepare the scope of services and undertake the technical evaluation for the appointment of Master planners, Architects, Engineers, MEP consultants, Landscape designers and other relevant design professionals.
Provide technical expertise on all aspects of Design Management during the Planning, Design and Construction Supervision phases of the project.
Oversee and manage up-to-date with changing building legislation and codes of practice relating to design.
Manage the maintaining of thorough documentation of the design process.
Managerial Responsibilities
Contribute to the sector’s short-and long term strategy from the Department’s perspective in line with RCU overall vision and mission.
Develop the Department’s strategy, objectives, and KPIs annual operational plans and ensure plan execution is meeting the targets.
Prepare and submit the Department’s annual budget for approval taking all planned activities and necessary investments into consideration by monitoring the financial performance.
Oversee the development, maintenance, implementation and adherence of the department policies and procedures as well as the overall performance of the department and ensure KPI’s are well developed, cascaded, communicated and monitored.
Ensure effective staffing, professional development and deployment of staff of the sector in consultation with the Sector Executive.
Direct the Department’s connection to its stakeholders whether internal or external, to ensure stakeholders needs are met effectively.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree Architecture or relevant filed (Masters Degree preferred).
Work Experience
10 years of relevant experience with 5 years in a managerial role.
Other Requirements
Written and Oral proficiency of English language.
Excellent communication skills.
